The Majestic Mountain Inn is undergoing a $250,000 remodeling project.

The hotel was originally constructed in 1993 by Doug Bracken. It expanded in 1995 and again in 1999.

"It was beginning to show a little age," Nadel said. "And we want to keep the experience here fresh for our guests since we have a lot of repeat business."

The luxury and deluxe rooms will be the first remodeled, with completion expected in about four months.

The standard rooms will be ready for guests in six to seven months, Nadel said.

The work was started in March and is being handled by local businesses and in-house staff, Nadel said.

The remodeling will include high-end furnishings, plasma televisions, marble countertops, new carpeting and tile, and all new accessories.

"All the rooms will have added charm," Nadel said.

The hotel has been named Best of Payson and featured on the Arizona Highways television magazine.

Nadel said Majestic Mountain Inn is popular with celebrities and VIPs, including members of the Diamondbacks organization.

"The hotel offers both business and leisure travelers a majestic experience in the Rim Country," Nadel said.
