David Paul Halchishick, 53, of Pine, died April 12, 2006 from Hepatitis C that he contracted 30 years ago. He was born June 2, 1952 in Bridgeport, Conn.
Mr. Halchishick worked as a counselor in the substance abuse field for over 15 years. He was a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 21 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Alley-Halchishick of Pine, his son, E8 Master Sergeant James S Halchishick (Pamela), currently serving in Iraq, daughter Amber Halchishick, and step-sons Heath Wacker (Amy) and Jonathan Nebo (Michelle). Survivors also include brothers, Rick (Pat), Rob (Shaunna) and John, sisters Rosemary Robinson and Laura Hill (Nelson) as well as six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Halchishick was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Halchishick.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane in Payson.
