It's raining cats and dogs at the Payson Humane Society, so we're having a Monsoon Sale. During the entire month of August, we will take $20 off the price of every adoption from the shelter.
We are currently at full capacity, so if you have room in your house and heart for a dog or cat (or both), please stop by the shelter at 812 S. McLane Road and give one of these deserving animals a new home.
If you can't adopt an animal but would like to donate funds for their care, or to help build a badly needed new shelter for the animals, please contact the Payson Humane Society at 474-5590.
BOOTS & DORA
We are Boots and Dora. We came to the shelter as strays and our owners never came to claim us. We are hoping we will get a new, forever family that loves us and would take us both. We have never been separated, and are best buddies even through the worst times. Let's talk about Boots first. He is a 10-month-old neutered male Golden Retriever mix. He is friendly and good-natured. Most of the time he is good on a leash but sometimes will pull. He needs a fenced yard so he won't run in the street. Boots can be an outside dog but needs to be adopted with Dora so they can grow old together. Dora is a two-year-old spayed female shepherd/lab mix. She is pretty good on the leash and loves attention. Dora also needs a fenced yard so she can't run away. Please come to the shelter and see both of these dogs; they need a good home.
Hi, my name is Billy. I'm a five-year-old, neutered male black lab mix. Are you wondering what a nice guy like me is doing in a shelter? Sadly, I lost my owners some weeks ago. I was brought to the shelter to find a new life and new home. I was quite scared when I first came here; I didn't understand what all the noise and people were about. Now I know! The people are friendly and take care of us; the volunteers come to make sure we get exercise and extra love. I have calmed down, but would look forward to going into a calm atmosphere with adults. Please come and see me and give me a chance.
I'm a beautiful long-haired 4-year-old neutered male orange tabby. I'm proud to say I'm a looker! My coat is luxurious, smooth and soft but needs lots of brushing. My big, beautiful green eyes will greet you when you come into the shelter. My personality is quite honorable. I'm a friendly guy, I love people and I get along well with other cats. What more can I say! I would love to be in a home where companionship and love abounds
Cookie is a four-month-old spayed female black and tan hound mix. She is pure puppy. This high-energy girl needs lots of training and exercise to bring out her best qualities. Cookie was adopted to a senior who realize she was a bit too much puppy for him to handle. She was returned to the shelter just as fun-loving as when she left. The nice former owner donated four free training lessons that will be included in her adoption. Please come take a look at her. She would be great for an active, outdoor family.
I have been with my family since I was a pup. After eight years, they had to give me up. I love to run and play. The volunteers at the shelter like to see me play in the water. They think I'm a real character. My coat is black mixed with brown and I look like a Basset hound mix. I'm neutered and current on my shots. Please come visit me at the shelter.
