Gila Community College added two members to its Payson Campus staff this year -- Peggy Miles as Wellness Facilitator and James Quinlan in the newly created position of English instructor.
Miles has a master's degree in Educational Leadership and a master's in Human Relations and Counseling, both from Northern Arizona University. Her bachelor's degree from California State University, Sacramento is in Physical Education with supplemental studies in biology.
Miles has 14 years of educational instruction and leadership experience, and has served the Payson Unified School District as physical education/health instructor, counselor and elementary school principal. She has been a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and an adjunct faculty in American Sign Language for both Pima Community College and Gila Community College at the Payson Campus.
Quinlan has a master's degree in Educational Leadership from NAU and has nearly completed another master's degree in English from Arizona State University. He has 32 years of experience teaching English and Literature in high school and community colleges. He has served as English instructor and department chair for Payson High School and as an adjunct faculty member. He has taught English, American Literature, English Literature and World Literature for both Pima Community College and Gila Community College.
