Two motorcycle accidents occurred Saturday within hours and miles of each other on the Beeline Highway.
The first accident occurred at 5:41 p.m. when a motorcycle collided with a vehicle being driven by Laurie Futch of Mesa at the roundabout in front of Home Depot.
Payson Police Commander said the motorcycle rider, whose name was not immediately divulged, was not injured.
Less than three hours later, at 8:29 p.m., about one mile north of the first accident, another motorcycle drifted off the highway.
Department of Public Safety Officer Doc Dimbat said witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle, driven by Steven Edgeworth of Happy Jack, drift over before going off the highway.
Edgeworth, who Dimbat said was in his 40s, was taken by helicopter to Scottsdale Osborn Hospital.
