The President's Cup was the one Payson Women's Golf Association tournament championship that had eluded Laura Meyocks.
She was able to check the missing win off her list Aug. 7 and 8 at the Payson Golf Course when the longtime local linkster won the elusive crown with a 135.
"My first win in the (President's) Cup," she said.
In the handicap-formatted fray, Joyce Goff was second at 136. With a 141, Shari Cody was third.
Cody also made the play of the tournament on the par 3, 130-yard No. 8 where she came within 10 inches of a hole-in-one.
Although she didn't score the ace, she did pocket closest to the pin prize money for her amazing second-day tee shot.
Nancy Little finished fourth in the tournament at 144.
Karen Peterson was a closest to the pin prizewinner on the second day with a drive that rolled to within 5 feet, 11 inches of No. 14.
On the first day, winners were Connie Gyde (No. 17; 8 feet, 6 inches) and Joyce Karnes (No. 5, 11 feet, 8 inches).
