The Buckhead Mesa landfill will have a 300,000-gallon water tank on site by the end of the year.
The tank, bought by the county from Jim Richey, will be refurbished to hold potable water.
The county paid $5,000 for the tanks and will be spending approximately $63,000 to dismantle, move, restore and cover the one going to the landfill, said Steve Stratton, director of the county's public works department.
