Justice 'Appointee' Is A Qualified, Fair Judge

The article on the editorial page of the Friday, Aug. 4, Payson Roundup was a very good and informative article.

It stated that three people are running for the justice of the peace position in the coming primary election. One candidate is an attorney, one owns a furniture store, and one is currently serving in the justice of the peace position as an "appointee."

It did not mention whether any of the three have any experience, or background, in the field of "justice of the peace" business.

Just for the record, the "appointee" has served in this Payson justice of the peace office for 19 years; 14 of those years as a judge under Ronnie McDaniel.

She was appointed to the office by the Gila County Board of Supervisors, when Judge McDaniel retired, because she is so very qualified for the position. She has the reputation of being a very sharp and a very fair judge.
