Payson High School's "Back to School" night will take on a new twist this year.
No longer will parents move from classroom to classroom on a bell schedule as they've done in past years.
This time around, they'll be free to move around campus, visiting with their child's teachers.
The annual school visit will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21.
Principal Roy Sandoval said the format changes were made to streamline the evening and allow parents more freedom.
Parents should first stop by the auditorium to pick up their child's schedule and a campus map.
Parents may then move from class to class at their own discretion.
For those who cannot find a classroom, drama students -- donned in distinctive garb -- will be stationed around campus to provide directions.
For parents, each teacher will have a subject syllabus, contact phone and e-mail information, class policies, rules and a sign-up sheet for conferences.
Sandoval stresses that the evening is not for parent conferences. Those can be scheduled for a later date.
