The Payson Unified School District No. 10 Food Service announces the following meal prices for the 2006-2007 school year:
- Breakfast, Students, all schools - $1
- Breakfast, Adults, all schools - $1.25
- Lunch, Students, elementary schools - $1.50
- Lunch, Students, middle and high schools - $1.75
- Lunch, Adults, all schools - $2.75
Parents are always welcome at breakfast and lunch to dine with their students.
The Food Service Office is still processing free and reduced meal applications. Applicants will be notified by letter if they are approved for free/reduced meals. If questions remain after receiving the letter, call Food Service at (928) 472-5703.
Parents are encouraged to make deposits into their student's account at www.mymealtime.com account. If they need a pass code to access the student's account, call Food Service.
When making deposits to student accounts at the school, do so at breakfast or between breakfast and lunch, not during the lunch rush. Lunch lines will move more quickly if the students have money in their account, or the correct amount of cash in their pockets to pay for meals at the cash register.
The USDA has reduced beverage choices at the elementary and middle schools due to the high sugar content of many sports drinks.
Only water and 100 percent juice is allowed at these schools. This includes any other school activity during the day. No carbonated beverages will be offered at the high school. Beverages at the high school have been reduced from 20 oz. to 12 oz.
There is a new line at Payson High School. The window just outside the north side double doors will be offering such items as cheeseburgers, 7-inch pizza, chili fries and spicy chicken sandwiches. This should help reduce the long lines at PHS lunchtime.
Food Service may put a cart outside near the auditorium in the near future.
Another a la carte line will be added at Rim Country Middle School offering the same items as the window at Payson High School. This will be in the old snack bar room on the south side of the gym.
Look for expansion and enhancement of catering over the next few months to meet Payson's growing need for a first-class caterer. A catering brochure will be issued in the next few months.
