On behalf of the Reaching Out Breast Cancer Support Group of Payson and surrounding areas, I'd like to thank the Payson AZ Pro Rodeo Committee for their generous donation to our group.
The special "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" spring rodeo performance contributed greatly to the continued support for local women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Many thanks to the cowboys and cowgirls who wore pink shirts for their events in the arena, the public who purchased pink scarves and magnetic pink ribbons for their vehicles.
Thank you to the driver of the pickup who drove our ladies around the arena, especially the organizers, and anyone else who contributed to the success of this special performance.
The goal of our group is to help women diagnosed with this deadly disease in any way possible through research, information, visits, with wigs, prostheses and mastectomy bras for those in need, and perhaps most important of all, peer support from "those who have been there."
Our group meets the second Thursday of every month at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Cross Lutheran Church (just past Safeway on Highway 260). All women diagnosed with breast cancer are welcome. Please call 476-4298 or 474-7065 if we can be of help. Wouldn't it be great if there were no need for fund-raisers of this type during the lifetime of our granddaughters and great- granddaughters?
In the meantime, thanks again to the Payson Pro Rodeo Committee for helping continue the fight against breast cancer with your most generous and appreciated donation.
