Shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday a 2001 Dodge pickup struck two other vehicles in the Safeway parking lot. There were no passengers in the truck at the time of the accident, and no driver.

The truck, owned by Vickie Hartley of Payson, could be started by remote control, said Payson Police Commander Don Engler.

As the shoppers loaded groceries into the bed of Hartley's vehicle, the engine started and because it was in gear, started to drive forward, running into a 2006 white Ford van.

A 14-year-old girl in the van was taken to Payson Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. The runaway pickup truck also struck a 1993 van before coming to a stop.
