AARP Arizona is holding a public forum "Issues Facing an Aging America" on Friday, Aug. 25 at Payson Senior Circle, 215 N. Beeline Highway, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
The session is meant to provide a setting for the expression of the most pressing issues concerning persons over 50 by the participants themselves. Both seniors and those who work with them will be able to share with members of the state staff and executive council concerns, needs, vulnerabilities and ideas for change and expansion.
This first-time event is part of a summertime series being repeated around the state by AARP, but is the only one scheduled for Payson and northern Gila County.
The featured presenter is AARP state president Ritch Steven, who is a former health executive. Dr. Ginny Creager, a seniors issues advocate from Payson, will facilitate the discussion.
By special arrangement, Lupe Solis, Associate Director for Advocacy, will also be present.
Payson Regional Medical Center has arranged to assist AARP Arizona at their Senior Circle facility, but seating is limited to the first 45 persons making reservations.
RSVP to Senior Circle (928) 472-9290. Refreshments will be served.
