Last week Debbie Aschbrenner, owner of Tall Pines Market in Christopher Creek presented her 2nd Annual Wine Tasting on her new patio. Around 125 residents showed up for "Wine in the Pines" and it was a beautiful night for socializing.
There were 10 different wines on hand, plus Sierra Nevada Brewery had its line of beers available for tasting. Alliance Beverage Company of Arizona helped with the wine tasting. Debbie provided a wonderful buffet of appetizers to complement the wines.
Shelly Hanson came up to me and said she had something she wanted me to see. Debbie went way out with decorating, it seems she even decorated the handicap Port-a-John. Now when you think "Portable John" most people think "Yuck," but I have to tell you this was so cute and clean you wouldn't think twice about using it. She had candles lit, a decorative mirror and a pretty stand with decorative flowers and potpourri. It just goes to show you that Debbie will make sure everything is perfect for guests.
Craig Miller from Payson was the DJ and he had everyone singing along. It was a perfect night for guests to get out and have some fun. Debbie wants to have these events every two to three months, with the next wine tasting to be sometime in November.
Don't forget this weekend is the Firebelles Big Brats barbecue along with the bake sale and ice cream social. They could use some baked goods and some volunteers. Call Phyllis if you can help. The bake sale is at 9 a.m. till all is sold and the brats and hot dogs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds go to Firebelle Education and Equipment fund.
The next Firebelle meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sept. 9. A CPR class will be held at 10 a.m. You can contact Phyliss at (928) 478-0976 if interested in this valuable training.
