Marjorie and Dennis Pierce will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 2, 2006. They were married Sept. 2, 1956 in Phoenix.
Dennis became a certified automatic and standard transmission specialist. He has owned many vintage cars and built his own dragsters.
Marjorie is a homemaker, involved in PTA, and is a cosmetologist.
Dennis opened his own businesses in 1960. Marjorie joined him and became the company's secretary and accountant. The couple worked together for more than 30 years. Together, they served as Sunday School teachers and chaperoned teens' and college students' functions. Dennis was also on the church bowling team.
They retired in Payson, Arizona.
Their daughter, Carol Van Loo, lives in Scottsdale, and they have two grandsons, Dennis and Geoffrey Van Loo; an extended church family from 1960 to their present church family at First Southern Baptist Church in Payson. They are also actively involved in the Payson community.
