Habitat Half Marathon A Success Because Of The People Involved

Payson is a great place to live.

Recently, Habitat for Humanity, in cooperation with the Mazatzal Casino, held its inaugural half marathon, 5K, fun-run event. It was an honor to work with marketing director Farrell Thompson and his staff -- Susan, Tracy and Terry. There could be no better community-spirited organization to work with than this group.

Every event includes additional hardworking people and this effort had many. Wayne Gorry, Wayne Donnay, Scott Graff, Bev Graff, Mary McMullen, John Zilisch, Gene Sampson, Fran Doering, Earl Davis, Brenda Mouw, Mark Smith, Holly Aungst, Tom Piowarsy and Carol Piowarsy made up an outstanding organizational committee.

The Town of Payson's fire, police, street and recreation departments, along with the tribal police, the many business sponsors and Chamber of Commerce, plus the in-kind help of numerous volunteers, were all necessary to make this event a huge success.

Please support our business sponsors on the back of the 5K T-shirt. Support our town. Support Habitat's efforts to build affordable housing for low-income families of our community. Great communities are built from great citizens and their efforts. Payson has great people and I thank you all for the opportunity to live in such a caring place.
