Byron Wesley Branstetter


Byron Wesley Branstetter died Dec. 5, 2006 at his home in Tonto Basin. He was born March 23, 1921 in Vandalia, Mo.

Mr. Branstetter was a longtime resident of the Rim Country and worked as a logger for the Kaibab Sawmill in Payson and owned and operated his own business, BM&N Lumber & Supply in Pine.

He is survived by his daughters Nannie Larson of Utah, Mary Loges of Tonto Basin, Lorene Branch of Globe, Kitty Martin of Globe and stepdaughter Jerri Sanders of Tonto Basin; a son, Barney Branstetter of Payson; sister, Dorothy Belshe and brother, Dale Branstetter, both of Vandalia, Mo. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Branstetter was preceded in death by his first wife, Katie Garrison Branstetter, and his second wife, Myrtle Haught Branstetter; and his stepson Melvin Hunt.

No services are planned, however the family will have a memorial at a later date.
