Carrie Johnson of Strawberry, a 2001 graduate of Payson High School, was recently honored with two college scholarships.
She was selected as the 2006-07 Arizona National Livestock Show Ambassador and received the "Arizona Is My Home" scholarship.
Johnson will spend the next year representing the Arizona National Livestock Show as a spokesperson for the association and agriculture industry. In exchange she is receiving a $2,000 college scholarship.
The "Arizona Is My Home" scholarship was created to promote and preserve Arizona's traditions, history, and rural lifestyle.
Johnson was selected from a pool of over 800 applicants from across the nation and received $2,500.
Johnson is pursuing a degree in animal science with emphasis in reproduction.
She plans to continue her education with a master's degree in agriculture education.
