Around 100 people showed up for this year's Christmas Party at the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church.
It was a wonderful evening with good friends, a lot of delicious food and some really nice entertainment from the children.
Mike Snively conducted the program and did a great job.
They started off with a Christmas carol and then someone would share a blessing. What made this so special is that many of the children stood up and shared blessings with everyone.
Entertainment for the evening began with Ella Slaughter and Victoria Buce, who sang a duet "It's a Miracle." Seth Branson sang "Joy to the World." Rebecca Jones did a violin solo, "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear." Kaila Winkle also did a violin solo, "The First Noel." Isaac Branson and Victoria Buce were next with a violin duet, "Away in a Manger" and "O Come, O Come Emanuel." Les Buce did a violin solo, "O Come Little Children." Jessie Snively did a wonderful piano solo, "The First Noel and the Christmas Eve Waltz." Tyler and Tucker Kilbourne played a guitar and violin medley, "We Three Kings" and "Little Town of Bethlehem" and Tyler Kilbourne finish it all up with a recital of "The Christmas Story From The Gospel of Luke," which he had memorized.
Everyone got to sing more Christmas carols and then there was the lighting of candles. Everyone had a candle and then the lights were turned out and all the candles were lit, followed by the singing of "Silent Night."
Then they played the gift game, followed by closing prayer by Pastor Ed Hepworth.
Saturday was the memorial service for Shelly Hansen.
More than 200 people jammed into Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church to pay their respects to this special lady. It was standing room only inside and outside. Special thanks to Jennette Anderson, who put this program together. It really was a wonderful tribute to Shelly.
Shelly loved her children and cared about them.
She even watched over our children and now it's our turn to return the favor. Her daughter, Alexis, and grandson, Daniel, are staying with Teresa and Tracy Purtee in Christopher Creek.
They are trying to find her a place of her own. If anyone out there knows of any programs for young unwed mothers that will help her find a home, please call Teresa at (928) 478 - 4337, or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Dillon is back with his father, Jim, in Tombstone, but would like to be with his sister. If they can get her a place, then he will be able to stay with her.
A donation account has been set up to benefit her two children, Dillon, 16, and Alexis, 19, and her 2-year-old son, Daniel, which is sponsored by Debra Larsen, Terry Flores and Paul Corso.
Donations may be made at Wells Fargo Bank, Account number 3214430740. Thanks to all of you who care about these children.
