There is a letter going around among the real estate people that says the Star Valley Tower Well produces 1,500 GPM.
I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but the fact is this well can only produce 530 GPM, not the 1,500 GPM, as stated in an article in the local paper.
I have a copy of the actual pump test that was done on this well. This was a seven-day pump test at 530 GPM and furthermore, this was not a Safe Yield test.
As of now, we don't know what our Safe Yield is until the final report by the water task force is presented to the Town council. Also the Safe Yield study has not yet been completed by the contractor. It is expected to be completed in late January.
The other half of the Mayor's water task force will also be presented sometime in January. The figure 1,500 GPM is the predictable amount of water that might be produced by all the wells within Star Valley. If anyone would like to see the pump test of the Tower Well, I would be more than happy to show them the actual test result.
