Residents Asked To Give Input On Town Of Payson Goals

The Payson Town Council and town staff is asking the public to weigh in on issues that affect their daily lives. As the elected leaders formulate the upcoming Corporate Strategic Plan, they seek input from the populace to help guide the way.

"The public can submit their input on long-range goals," said

Town Manager Fred Carpenter. "Town staff will compile these and present them to the council."

At the Dec. 5 Corporate Strategic Plan meeting, the council asked town staff to create an interactive submission form. It's now available on the town's Web site. Payson residents are asked to detail their goals for the town. The description should include the type of services, what segment of the population it should serve and the desired outcome of the suggestion.

The goals provide a framework for the town's operations. The council encourages the public to offer constructive suggestions, addressing broad policy statements that outline the general direction of major service areas within a two-to-five year timeframe.

During the next CSP meeting Jan. 11, town staff will provide its findings for new goals. By April, a rough draft will be presented to the council and final adoption is slated for the beginning of July.
