Sending My Very Best To Max Foster During His Difficult Time

As many of you may have noticed, longtime sports writer Max Foster is currently not writing as much as usual for the Payson Roundup.

As a former player and coach with Max, I wanted to thank him for his many years of dedication to PHS, RCMS and the entire community. I no longer live in the Payson area, but as a current coach in North Carolina, I continue to talk to coach Foster and seek his advice on a regular basis.

As Max battles (and I know will eventually win) his health issues, I want him to know that I miss reading his stories about current players, as well as, us "old-timers."

I miss his well-timed and well-placed "digs" on the Wildcats.

Like listening to an old cowboy talk about stories of days gone by, coach Foster would make us sports fans remember why athletics are such an important part of the Payson community and most of our lives. As a young player who has been on the "tail chewing" side of coach Foster, and as a man who has come to treasure the opportunities I have had to learn from Max, I wanted to send my very best to him and his family.

Coach, I think about you all the time and wish you the very best. I have no doubt you will win this battle and be back at the Roundup in the near future.

I will see you soon, my friend.

Go Devils.
