Q: I heard the Town of Payson's employee Christmas party was canceled. If so, why? And I heard that town employees offered to pay for the party themselves.

A: "We just didn't have one this year because it wasn't included in the budget," Payson Town Manager Fred Carpenter said. Carpenter said he wasn't aware of any offer by the employees. "They never came to me with that," he said.

Q: I did not purchase a gas adjuster. Why does my heating bill from Energy West say "Purchased Gas Adjuster"?

A: "Purchased Gas Adjuster" along with "Fuel Surcharge" and "Energy Usage" is how the Arizona Corporation Commission requires that energy consumption be broken down on consumer bills.
