The Payson Regional Economic Development Corporation is hosting Dr. Guy Cardineau of Arizona State University for a two-day visit to the Rim Country.
A noted expert in the biotechnology field, he will be in Payson Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.
A program will be presented at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Payson Public Library for members of the PREDC and select guests. A public program at Payson High School auditorium will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9. He will discuss biotechnology and, at a reception afterward, answer questions.
Friday, Cardineau will meet at 7:30 a.m. with members of the Mogollon Health Alliance and representatives from Payson Regional Medical Center. The balance of the morning, Cardineau will address selected classes at Payson High School.
Cardineau co-founded proVacs as part the Center for Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology of the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University in the fall of 2002. He became a research professor at ASU with appointments in the Biodesign Institute, the School of Life Sciences and the College of Law Jan. 1, 2003.
Cardineau is an inventor of more than 40 issued and pending patent applications in the plant sciences.
