Included in the print edition of the Payson Roundup is a special 16- page "Meet the Candidates" election guide featuring side-by-side comparisons of the views of the Payson mayoral and town council candidates on five fundamental issues: growth, water, streets, the local economy and public services.
The 11 candidates were also asked to weigh in on a sixth topic of their choice, and the Diamond Star Town Council candidates are also featured in the section.
The candidates will also square off at the one and only candidate forum/debate tonight (Tuesday) at 6:30 p.m. in the Payson High School auditorium. The event is hosted by the Tonto Community Concert Association and co-sponsored by the Payson Patriot and the Payson Roundup.
Both the Payson and Diamond Star elections are March 14. Mail-in ballots will be mailed to registered voters Feb. 9, with a second mailing to include newly registered voters Feb. 27. Residents can register through 5 p.m. Feb. 13 to vote in the primary election.
