Bertha Cohan, 86, of Payson, died Feb. 17, 2006 in RTA Hospice of Payson. She was born Feb. 23, 1919 in New Haven, Conn.
She graduated from nursing school in 1939 from Brooklyn Jewish Nursing Hospital.
Mrs. Cohan was the first mate on the USS Duet, an avid sailor, swimmer, bowler, dancer, bridge player, animal lover and lover of all aspects of life.
Mrs. Cohan dedicated her life to the practice of Christian Science, and was a spiritual mentor for family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ralph Cohan; daughter, Roz Gibel; son, Larry Cohan; grandchildren, Keith and Brian Gibel, Scott and Sonya Cohan; and five great-grandchildren.
