Cecil E. Chase

Cecil E. Chase, a longtime resident of Payson, died Feb. 17, 2006. He was born July 24, 1913 in Seward County, Neb.

Mr. Chase served in the Army Air Corps during World War II (Asian-Pacific Theatre).

He married Nita Frazier Oct. 6, 1941 in Wheeler County, Texas. The couple were avid bowlers. They were junior bowling coaches for many years. They enjoyed square dancing and were members of square dance clubs for 50 years.

Mr. Chase was a 29-year member of the Elks and a member of the ROMEOs.

He is survived by his niece, Lynn (Larry) Ayers; eight brothers and sisters; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; and his wife, Nita.
