Special Olympics Dance Provides Good Memories

These two young men got their chance to attend their first prom. It was quite exciting for them, as it is for anyone who gets to go to their very first prom. Leo Zanotto from Christopher Creek and Todd Orr from Tonto Village had a ball as they attended their first prom. This Special Olympics Dance with formal dress was held at Julia Randall Elementary School cafeteria. The Statewide youth group "people to people" had volunteered their time to host this very special event along with Becky Derwort who is the Director of Special Olympics for the Payson area. Memory pictures were taken that evening and they had a deejay on hand for entertainment.

Don't forget the Grant Steering Committee meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Fire Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Ladies, don't forget the Annual Pajama Party this Friday at 6 p.m. at Karen Thorton's home starting at 6 p.m. Bring along your favorite appetizer to share.

There is not a lot going on in Christopher Creek. Lets hope they close the forest soon, so we don't have to worry about fire accidents. We all need to be aware of what goes on around us, and not allow someone to be careless when smoking outside. No outside burning, take your trees and pine needles to the burn pit. Use common sense when outside, and those of you who have not cleaned up your property, now is the time because of the very dry conditions outside.
