Library Fund-Raiser A Tasteful Success

Maria Moceri of Cucina Paradiso serves patrons during the Library Friends of Payson's Taste of Rim Country Chef's Extravaganza at the Tonto Apache Community Center Saturday.

Preliminary figures showed the Payson Public Library grossed $7,709 from the event, but staff was still sorting through a few incoming expenses, according to Friends president Donna Hopkins.

Chefs from around Rim Country and 50 volunteers made the library's signature fund-raiser possible for the estimated 300 attendees.

"You come to this each year and you think that they've probably exhausted all the different appetizers that they could present to people," said attendee Ted Anderson. "Then you come back this year and it's all good, new and fantastic and a fun time."
