Helen E. Miller, 89, died Jan. 10, 2006 at Citadel Care Center in Mesa. She was born July 29, 1916 in Kokomo, Ind. to Hazel and Ernest Harrell.
She moved with her family to Phoenix when she was 2-1/2 years old. Helen and James David "Jay Dee" Miller moved to Payson in 1950 and operated several businesses in Payson, the last being Jay Dee's Liquors.
Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Payson.
She is survived by her brother, Harvey (Marjorie) Harrell of Mesa; sister, Juanda Doubledee of Oronogo, Mo.; goddaughter, Marsha Jo Horsley Lewis of Redmond, Ore.; and 14 nieces and nephews.
A traditional graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Payson Pioneer Cemetery.
