Charlie Lee Blake


Charlie Lee Blake, 81, of Tonto Basin, died Jan. 12, 2006. He was born in Hayden and raised in Tonto Basin.

Mr. Blake served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from the Arizona Department of Transportation after working in highway maintenance.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Laura Mae Blake of Tonto Basin; daughters, Susan Welch of Mesa and Jessie (Michael) Farnsworth of Des Moines, Wash.; sons, Kenneth (Susan) Sparks of Phoenix and Thomas Q. (Lallah) Sparks of Payson; sister, Josephine Speer of Tonto Basin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Lynn Morrison; brothers, David and Joe Blake; and sisters, Myrtle Stevens and Edna Tomerlin.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at Punkin Center Baptist Church, Highway 188 at McLellan, Tonto Basin.
