Reed Hatch

Reed Hatch, suspected of running down a Department of Public Safety officer in August, is still in custody at the Gila County Jail in Payson, held on $100,000 bond.

County Attorney Daisy Flores couldn't comment on the details of the case, but said Hatch was scheduled to attend a case management conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Flores added that no pleas are pending.

A grand jury indicted Hatch in September on two counts of aggravated assault; failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving a fatality or serious injury; DUI-impairment; and DUI with blood alcohol level higher than .08.

Hatch is accused of running down DPS officer Charlie Hopkins and then fleeing the scene, Aug. 18.

Hopkins was released from the hospital in late October, more than two months after the accident.
