As School Resource Officer, David Vaughn of the Payson Police department teaches law-related education to children of all ages.
Thursday he visited Frontier Elementary School to share a children's book called "What's America?" written by two Gilbert-area judges.
"The book teaches children about democracy and the freedoms Americans enjoy," Vaughn said.
"The goal of any SRO program is to develop critical thinking skills that will help children make good decisions. Law-related education is founded on the principles of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights."
Vaughn said he tries to help the children understand that we all have freedoms, but with those freedoms come responsibilities.
