Benefit Set For Young Cancer Victims

The third Payson Sunshine Kids Fund-raiser Dance and Auction is Feb. 4 at the Mazatzal Casino. Sponsors of the dance and auction are Pioneer Title Agency, Lenders for Life Home Mortgage and Prudential Arrowhead Realty.

The community is invited to participate in this worthwhile charity, which provides fun group activities for children who are the victims of cancer.

The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer and is committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients. The Sunshine Kids provides a variety of programs and events, free of charge, for kids who are receiving cancer treatment in hospitals across North America. They provide exciting, positive group activities for children with cancer, so they may once again do what kids are meant to do -- have fun and celebrate life.

The Sunshine Kids Foundation was created in 1982 to provide young cancer patients with opportunities to participate in positive group activities that promote self-esteem, personal accomplishment and just plain old-fashioned fun, and to provide all of its activities completely free of charge to the children's families and hospitals.

Today, that vision has been realized many times over, as thousands of children from hospitals across the country have reaped the benefits of The Sunshine Kids Foundation's many programs and national and regional events. These include trips to Texas Hill Country, Disneyland, New Orleans, snow skiing trips, and Tucson for a taste of the Wild West.

A lot of fun is planned for Payson's Sunshine Kids Fund-raiser Dance at the Mazatzal Casino. The dance is at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4; admission is $10 per person, with tickets at the door or at Prudential Arrowhead Realty. Back by popular demand, there will also be a silent auction and door prizes.

It is hoped that the community will help support this worthwhile foundation.
