Payson police officers arrested a robbery suspect at his home Friday, Jan. 27.
Kenneth Gregory Auger, 44 of Payson, was nabbed for theft, and subsequently charged with drug possession, after officers served a search warrant at his home, in the 400 block of East McKamey Street, said Payson Police Commander Don Engler.
Investigators link Auger with a Jan. 20, 2006 residential burglary in north Payson. Engler said $8,600 worth of personal items were taken in that robbery.
"(Auger) wasn't cooperative," Engler said. "He was detained and as the probability cause increased he was arrested. Upon serving the search warrant, we recovered the majority of the stolen goods."
Investigators believe Auger is connected to other recent burglaries in the area.
"We're still following up on that case," Engler said.
Officers booked Auger into the Gila County Jail for two counts of theft; burglary; possession of stolen property; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of dangerous drugs, specifically methamphetamine; use of dangerous drugs; and use of marijuana.
Auger, Engler said, was busted for growing marijuana at his house about 18 months ago.
He is being held on a $5,000 bond. To report information on this case, contact the Payson Police Department at (928) 474-5177.
