Gartner Earns Eagle

Jonathan Gartner received his Eagle at a Court of Honor held in his honor on Saturday, June 24.

The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest rank a boy can achieve in the Boy Scouts of America.

Jonathan is a member of Troop 7254, sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Manzanita Ward.

For his Eagle Project, he organized volunteers to paint the inside of the Payson High School Auditorium, which had not been painted since it had been built in 1988.

As a drama student Jonathan had asked his drama teacher, Kathy Siler, what he could do to help in her department and she suggested this as a great need.

Gartner did not hesitate at the size of the project, but got to work and got it done over the 2004 fall break.

Jonathan joins two of his older brothers as Eagle Scouts and one Life Scout.
