Karen Peterson and Doris Lemmage will represent the Payson Women's Golf Association Nine Hole Group at the women's Arizona State Championships in December.
The two advanced by virtue of their wins in the Lady Niner's state medallion tournament held throughout the month of June on Payson Golf Course.
Peterson won the low gross title by tallying a 76. The highlight of her victory was an eagle she tallied on No. 18 during June 15 tournament play.
Lemmage advances to state as the PWGA's low net title holder. Her card of 67 edged out runners-up Cathy Semmens and Joanne Karchgassner. The two finished the tournament tied with a pair of 67s.
Trailing Peterson in the low gross chance were runner-up Nancy Little (88) and bronze medalist Shari Cody (91).
In an end of the month scramble held at the conclusion of the state medallion fray, Peterson again took first. Dorothy Hardman was second and Mary Johnson third.
