LaVon and Jim Milano celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary recently.
Michigan natives, the Milanos met in 1949 while attending pharmacy school at Ferris Institute in Big Rapids, Mich.
They were married in Detroit on July 2, 1951.
After Jim's service with the U.S. Navy, the Milanos settled in Libertyville, Ill.
They owned a drugstore until December 1971 when they moved to Arizona.
Jim was a pharmacist in the Phoenix area and in Payson.
Jim and LaVon have three children: John (Karen) of Washington, Ill; Nancy (Ken) Volz of Payson; Lisa (Art) Brothman of Salt Lake City, Utah; and three grandchildren.
The Milanos are members of Community Presbyterian Church and active in the community.
They have lived in Payson the past 22 years.
