William V. Campbell, 76, of Payson, died July 2, 006 in Payson. He was born March 24, 1930 in White Plains, N.Y.
"Bill" graduated from Columbia University and served in the Navy as a communications officer during the Korean War.
He was a certified public accountant and member of AICPA, serving Payson since 1988.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a member of Mensa. He served as treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Zane Grey Country for 17 years.
An avid reader and historian, he traveled extensively throughout Great Britain.
He shared a great love for the Arizona Diamondbacks with his wife, Jane.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucinda J. Campbell of Payson; sons, Scott V. Campbell of Waldorf, Md. and Edward C. Campbell of Payson; granddaughters, Katherine J. Campbell and Margaret E. Campbell of Waldorf, Md.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Jane Campbell.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive.
