Payson Little League all-star minor division manager Craig McMullen is praising wins in area and region post-season tournaments as "complete team efforts."
Everyone is contributing and playing well, he said.
With victories in the Area One and District One tournaments played in Eagar-Springerville, the Payson stars have qualified for the Arizona State tournament to begin July 19 in Springerville.
The state format will have the 12 district champions playing six games in a round robin over the course of a week.
The team's appearance at state will be the second successive year the squad has qualified for the Arizona showdown.
Last year, the team won area and district crowns and finished 2-4 at state.
In the post season, the 2006 Rim Country stars have dominated their opponents outscoring them 106-9 on the way to a 5-0 mark.
In the District Finals this week, Payson eliminated Show Low 24-0 and Flagstaff Mt. Elden 27-5.
In the win over Show Low, Miquel Mendoza hurled the complete game win. Against Mt. Elden, Chris Cooper improved his tournament record to 2-0 with a complete game. Chance Randall paced the offense with a 3-run home run.
