Payson Humane Society needs volunteers to help supervise dogs in the play yard behind the shelter at 812 S. McLane Rd. Each morning, dogs at the shelter are taken to the area for an hour of exercise.
They have a great time running and playing and just being dogs. The program does wonders for relaxing them, helping shy dogs become outgoing, and making them more adoptable.
Several volunteers are needed to help keep this program going. Participants should be in good physical condition, comfortable with handling 60-pound dogs. Hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
If you can spare a couple of hours a week to make a shelter dog's life more enjoyable, please call (928) 474-5590 and ask for Mike, the dog supervisor.
