Can You Believe They're Back In School?



Call me old-fashioned, but somehow I find it hard to believe school begins next week. With the temperature flirting with triple digits, it seems kids should be hanging out at the swimming pool, going fishing, riding their bikes or playing a board game with friends.

Payson Regional Senior Circle

Beginning Wednesday, July 19, at 9 a.m., a new program, "Doc Talk," will debut on KMOG's Rim Country Forum. Physicians from Payson Regional Medical Center, in conjunction with the Senior Circle, will discuss health issues and call-ins will be accepted. Dr. Travis Howard will appear on the first program. The show will air the third Wednesday of each month.

On July 25, Senior Circle will present "Lunch and Learn," a luncheon meeting, at the Senior Circle Building, 215 N. Beeline Highway. The guest speaker will be a PRMC physician. Reservations required. Call (928) 472-9290.

Pine/Strawberry SCAF

A public health nurse from Pinal-Gila Council on Senior Citizens will be at the Senior Center, Highway 87 in downtown Pine, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, to do blood pressure and blood sugar testing. There is no charge for this service and appointments are not necessary.

Payson Senior Center

The Board of Directors of Payson Senior Center meets at 8 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Center, 514 W. Main St. The meetings are open to the public.
