Robert D. Manning


Robert D. Manning died July 18, 2005 in Phoenix.

He was born April 15, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He moved to Phoenix in 1955 and has been a resident of Arizona ever since. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Tonto Village.

Mr. Manning is preceded in death by his parents William Thomas Manning and Catherine Young Dunn, two brothers William Jr. and Alex, two sisters Maxine and Catherine, two sons Robert and Jared, and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Elinor Emily Quillinan; brother, Russell (Hazel); children, Christine, Susan (Chuck) and James; one daughter-in-law, Suzan; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He had a successful career as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard and commercial airline industry.

He was a member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at the Scottsdale Camelback Stake Center, 2202 N. 74th St. in Scottsdale, with a viewing two hours prior (8 to 9:45 a.m.) to the services. Internment at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Road in Scottsdale.

Memorial contributions may be made to the LDS mission fund or the American Cancer Society.
