The Payson Town Council, at its meeting this week, will authorize the town to move forward on the design plan and negotiate engineering fees for the long-awaited Mud Springs Road construction project.
Mud Springs Road Phase 1 picks up the thoroughfare where it ends at Wade Lane and brings it around to Granite Dells Road.
The project also includes the construction of a two-way, 11-foot wide street, a 5-foot bike lane and a 5-foot sidewalk.
Town Manager Fred Carpenter said the council will also consider a motion to develop and better define a policy that would allow private well owners to hook up to the town's water system.
"We've been kicking it around for a while," Carpenter said.
Three subdivisions -- Cottage Creek, Ponderosa Heights and East Gateway Phase II -- make their way to the agenda Thursday evening.
Cottage Creek, located behind Walgreens, moves in for final plat approval, including improvements to the subdivision plan. Mayor Bob Edwards said he'll require the developer to upgrade the streets before it's approved.
East Gateway, behind Frontier Elementary School and the 121-unit Ponderosa Heights must pass preliminary plat, scheduled for Thursday evening, before developers can move toward final approval.
The council will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 27 in the council chambers, 303 N. Beeline Highway.
