Harold Iverson

Harold Iverson died July 5, 2006 at his home in Star Valley. He was born in Fairfax, Minn. on May 29, 1931.

He was a Korean Conflict Purple Heart Veteran serving in the Army, and also as a First Lieutenant in the Arizona and Minnesota National Guard until 1961. He spent 20 years with the Phoenix Fire Department, retiring in 1981.

Mr. Iverson, his wife, Betty and their son, Steve then moved to Pine, Ariz. and started Iverson Homes Inc.

He was chairman of Ducks Unlimited for 10 years and won several awards. He was active with the Pine Chamber of Commerce and served a short time as chairman of the Pine/Strawberry Fire Board.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Iverson; sons, Michael (Laurie) of Springfield, Ga., Steve (Sabrina) of Star Valley, Ariz., Robert and Craig of Phoenix; sister, Evelyn (Conrad) Fristed of Alexandria, Minn.; grandchildren, Alicia (Rick), Chelsea and Blake of Payson; great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Ricky and Amitie of Payson.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
