Charges Against Senior Driver Pending Blood Test Results

The Gila County Attorney's office is waiting for blood results before deciding whether to prosecute an 84-year-old woman on charges relating to a March 2 vehicle vs. motorcycle accident.

Rosalind Jeannette, 84, allegedly pulled into traffic in front of a motorcycle driven by Larry Peterson. Peterson, according to the Payson Police Department, died at the scene after attempting to lay his motorcycle down to avoid a collision.

A passenger on the motorcycle, Teri Peterson, was airlifted to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn.

Gila County Attorney Daisy Flores said her office is still waiting for blood results before deciding whether to file charges. She said results could take as long as six months to complete.

Department of Motor Vehicle Spokeswoman Cydney DeModica said she could not divulge whether Jeannette's license had been suspended or revoked, due to privacy rights.
