Mary Louise (Crabb) Bacon, 79, died June 12, 2006.
She was born Dec. 7, 1926 in Indianola, Iowa to J.L. and Marian Crabb. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1945. She married Gerald E. Bacon on June 28, 1946. They moved their family to Phoenix in 1951.
She worked for Goldwater's department store for a short period and transferred to Montgomery Ward for a long career as a department head. She retired in 1983 and moved to Payson, in 1985.
Mrs. Bacon and her husband traveled the country in a fifth-wheel trailer for several years.
After traveling, she decided she needed to work more, so she went to work for Wal-Mart in Payson. She retired from there in 2005.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Gerald Bacon, Payson; sons: Nicholas Bacon, Phoenix; Donald Bacon, Salinas, Kan.; Jeffrey Bacon, Phoenix; daughter, Cheryl Kudick, Livermore, Colo.; brother, Robert Crabb, Ukiah, Calif; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and even more loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Crabb; and sister, Darlene Besore.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at Messinger's Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive.
