Forest Drive between McLane Road and Highway 87 will be closed from 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 20 until approximately 5 a.m. Thursday, June 22.
The town's street department will be making improvements at the American Gulch Wash crossing on West Forest. Pipes will be placed under the road to carry normal storm runoff, which will enable the street to remain open during rainy weather. Heavy runoff will still go over the road, said Public Works Engineer LaRon Garrett, which will require closing the route to traffic.
During the work, residents on the east side of the wash will have access to their homes from Beeline Highway. Those on the west side of the construction area must use McLane for access.
No through access will be allowed during the work.
"We apologize for this inconvenience," Garrett said. "However, we believe the improved roadway will be worth this minor closure."
