John R. Rhinehart, Jr., 79, died June 14, 2006.
He was born June 6, 1927, in Lego, W. Va. to John R. and Elizabeth Rhinehart. He moved to Arizona in 1945.
Mr. Rhinehart served in the Merchant Marine and traveled around the world.
After serving in the U.S. Army from 1949 through 1952, he returned to Arizona where he lived in the Payson area for many years.
Mr. Rhinehart married Lorraine Rhinehart on June 6, 1986. They lived in Colcord Estates, Tonto Basin and Deer Creek before moving to Phoenix in 2003.
He worked most of his life as a carpenter until retirement.
Mr. Rhinehart enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lorraine Rhinehart of Phoenix; brother, Norm Rhinehart (Karen) of Phoenix; Harold Rhinehart of Phoenix; Dan Rhinehart of Colcord Estates; sister, Joyce Robertson of Phoenix; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles, Bud and Clarence; and sister, Lora Huffman.
A memorial service will be held at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, June 22 at Kivel Care Center, Smith Building, 3020 N. 36th St. in Phoenix.
