On Sunday, June 25, Coconino County will sponsor a free community clean-up and fire fuel reduction day for residents of the Whispering Pines area and the unincorporated surrounding areas.
The clean-up will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Waste collection bins will be located at the Coconino County Maintenance Yard at 1500 N. Country Club Road, Whispering Pines.
Forest materials may be delivered to the Moonset Pit, located on W. 66, one mile west of the Parks Store.
This clean-up day provides an opportunity for residents to clean up debris in their neighborhoods, eliminate rodent nesting areas, and reduce the threat of a fire by disposing of potential fire hazards.
Items that will not be accepted include hazardous materials, liquids, batteries, dead animals, tires, cars and car parts.
To dispose of refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners, a Certificate of Evacuation is required, or a fee of $28 will be charged for disposal without a certificate.
